About · the founder
Hi, I'm Bear.
My real name is Barrett. I'm 14, I live in Brevard, and I've been teaching myself to build websites. Bears Websites is what I do with that.

Barrett · Founder · Brevard, NC

"Twenty minutes from this view, somebody's downtown shop has a website that hasn't been updated since 2012. I figure that's worth fixing."
Why I started this
Most shops in Brevard don't have a website worth showing.
You can drive down Main Street and count the storefronts with no site at all, or with a site they'd be embarrassed to show their kids. Most are run by people who don't have time to sort out who to hire, what to ask for, or whether they're being ripped off. So they put it off another year. And another.
I figured I'd just build them one. Show them what it could look like. Charge a fair price. If they want it, great. If not, no pressure.
What I actually do
- I find your business. Either I spot you in town or you write to me. Either way, no cold-sales-call energy.
- I build the pilot myself. Custom code. Your real info. No drag-and-drop template. The site you're on right now is the kind of work I do.
- I mail you a letter. QR code goes to your pilot. You scan, look around, decide. The letter is on actual paper because email gets ignored.
- If you like it, $399. Flat price. Covers everything through launch. After that, $15 a month if you want me to keep it running, or zero if you'd rather host it yourself.
About being 14
Yes I'm 14. My parents handle the boring legal and money pieces: the contract, the payment, the email if you need an adult on the line. I handle the part you're paying for.
The bet you're making is that you can get a real, custom website from a kid who lives twenty minutes from your shop, for less than you'd pay for a logo redesign somewhere else. If the work doesn't hold up, you don't pay. You're seeing the work right now.
$399 flat. one-time, everything included.

Tell me a little about your business. I'll build you a custom pilot site, mail you a letter with a QR code, and you can decide if you want it. No charge to look.
